Motorola XTS3000 housing on other radios?

Post by Josh »

I know this is a rather stupid question, but in comparison of the XTS3000 and MTS2000 radios, they both seem rather alike:

3 position toggle, orange emergency button, excryption on/off concentric switch, 16 poisition zone/system switch, on/off/volume knob, display (although th XTS is much larger) and 15 button keypad. As well as similar type battery and antenna.

How easy/hard would it be to try putting an XTS3000 housing on an MTS2000 radio? I understand that the displays would not work the same, but besides that? I'm guessing that the only hurdle to cross is how the flex cable connects to the radio from the housing.
