HT 1000 talk tone

Post by Ett1033 »

I have a few HT 1000's that when keyed, pause a moment, and a very short beep is heard. The sound is transmitted and audible on the radio. The MDC is set to post, and it is NOT a side tone. What is this called, where is this in the programming, and can all models do it? It seems like it is designed to not clip off the beginning of the transmission.
Thanks,

I wonder if your radio has a secure board installed, or provison for one.
If it has either, the previous owner may have had secure enabled and that what maight be making the tone you are hearing..

Just a thought..
