Maratrac VHF rf board pinout question

Post by n0vzc »

Hello,

Does anyone know the pinout of the 6 pins that are on the maratrac RF board? I am wondering if I can use that RF board for any other radios. Also, is it 100mw for the input?

Thanks,

Mike

You mean the logic board right? The small 5 pin connector with the wires going to the Maratrac board before the PA?

The RF and Logic board in a Maratrac are the same in design as a Maxtrac. The only difference is firmware on the logic board essentially.

You can use a Maxtrac service manual in regards to the logic board and rf board, the interface boards and PA of course require a Maratrac manual for info.

Maratrac VHF rf board pinout question

Nope, I mean the rf transmitter board. I want to use the amplifier part of the maratrac. Their are 6 wires that go to it other then the power wires. The colors are purple (+12v), yellow, orange, blue, green, and brown.

Thanks,

Mike

Ok, you meant the PA section then? I don't have any info on the Maratrac anymore. The RF board and the logic board are the same as a Maxtrac so that's the only part of the radio that i know anything about.

From the Maratrac manual:

Green = Temp Sense Hi

Orange = Current Sense Lo

Brown = Temp Sense Lo

Violet = A+

Blue = Drive Limit

Yellow = A-

------------------

You'll need to "fool" the Maratrac PA into thinking that all is well with regard to temprature, current draw, etc.

You can do this by placing 1/2-watt resistors of about 1-5kohm between the Temp hi & lo and Current hi & lo terminals.

I don't remember for sure but I think that the Drive Limit terminal is looking for a small positive voltage.

Hope this helps.....
Aww screw it. I didn't wanna fool with it anymore anyhow.

Also, drive power is quite small - 1 watt or less. The Maratrac PA is quite similar to the Mitrek PA.
