Minitor IV problem

Post by jt118f4 »

I recently returned one of our M-IV pagers to M for an intermittent volume problem. Pager was returned fixed. The problem now is that there were three sets of paging tones programmed into F-1. Pager was reprogrammed to one set of tones. Now the pager is activating on the tones that were removed. I have reprogrammed the pager several times and when I read it, one set of tones are present, but it still activates on the tones that were removed. Any ideas or similar occurances?

Are you sure you have the latest firmware and software? I'm read that Motorola is posting their software for download now. It sounds as if you may have an older version than what they used to program and test it.

Yes, I have the latest software and firmware, however the pager still activates on the deleted tones. Anyone have any other ideas?

What coding option are you using? What are the tone sets that are programmed and what are the tone sets that are falsing the pager?

When deleting the old tones from the codeplug, MAKE SURE U ARE NOT USING THE "DELETE" KEY ON YOUR KEYBOARD!! The old tones will appear gone for the moment but they are till there. DOS only knows the backspace key but the delete key WILL make the numbers appear as if they are not there. I have been through something similar with the Minitor software and might be worth a try to go back in and backspace everything.

Using the backspace key to delete the tones did the trick. The pager is activating as programmed. Thanks, hooknladder.
