'98 Jeep Wrangler Install <-- Pics inside

Post by kccjs268 »

Okay so here it is....

I know its not perfect, but it goes....someday when i'm 110% done, i'll update the pics.

http://photos.yahoo.com/ffjeep5814

2 Double Code3 LEDx (R/B) @ rear tailgate -- they are switched seperatly so either red is on or blue is on, or both.

LED Sho-Me Slim Light (R/R) powered by Sho-Me Strobe LED Flasher, in side windows. During the day time it doesn't really punch through the tint, but at night it isn't bad (looking straight on of course)

Sho-Me LED Dash Light (R/R) - front headliner - flash pattern is set so the whole unit flashes together like a single strobe, works out pretty well.

Highbeam Flashers in the....well the headlights!

The Front Bumper - 4 Single Code3 LEDx (B/W/R/W) Red & White Facing the front with Blue & White facing the sides (this is my primary intersection lights, otherwise I'd have to be in the middle of the intersection w/ the sho-me in the sides) These are also powered by a 2nd Sho-Me LED Strobe Flasher.

There is a Dynamax speaker behind the front grill, and I have the FedSig Smart Siren inside. The "Brain" is under the drivers seat with the control head in the glove box. (until i do something w/ the radios for more room)

I have 2 CDM1550 LS+ (UHF/VHF) -- VHF Antenna is mounted in the rear quarter pannel and the UHF is up front with a trunk lip mount near the hood.

Future planes would be to figure out a new & improved mounting system for the radios (BTW these are remoute mounted, the "brains" are under the seats, just laying there for now), Replace the "Sho-Me" Lights and bring the smart siren out in the open.

Anyways thats what i got....I don't want this to be a long winded debate, so if you like it great, if not, wonderful, don't be mean!

Thanks
-Alex

Hello,

Your install sounds much like what I want to do. I posted here recently because I need a system that can do red in MA and blue in NJ. Do you think you would be able to tell me how you were able to do the switching so that only red or blue were on?

Thanks,
Alex

in the back of the dual Cod3 LEDx, there are 4 wires -- a ground for each color and a positive for each color -- its as simple as only powering up the red section or the blue section.

I don't really respond Code 3 (or 10-39 or whatever you call it) these are just for when i'm on scene of something major. I treat my blue light white lights and turn them off while parked.

Very nice, but aren't the rear LED's kinda low mounted?

They're okay. Unless you're right ontop of my backend, you'll see them. Still trying to figure out what I want to put in the rear window, but the hard top does come off, so those rear ledx's are my main source for rear warning.

On my old Jeep, I fabricated a bracket that ran between the two back roll bar uprights. From this bracket, I mounted two strobes in the upper corners of the back window. Worked like a champ, and was sexy.
