Motorola Phone Patch Model L1340A

Does anyone know of where a service manual could be found for this unit? Its a 68-06907W17. Mot parts says its discontinued ( what else is new?) It was made by I.A.I., but I can't find them either. Problem is, is when you try to place a telco call thru the unit or make a radio to telco call, the unit will kick in for about 2 sec and then drop out. Pushing the black test button inside the unit makes it do the same thing. Does anyone have any ideas or have seen this before? Tron
