Hell is freezing over...I'm selling my Astros!

Post by Elroy Jetson »

Just a heads-up: I'm now officially offering my pair of authentic LAPD UHF Astro Saber III's for sale. 450-520 split, in original and excellent condition.

I will sell them as a pair only. They contain the original LAPD flashcode, and have not been hacked. So, they're not flashed for Apco 25 or CAI, and I can not assist you in getting that done. I don't have that kind of knowledge.

They will come as follows:
2 radios
2 antennas
2 belt clips
2 chargers (one is a newer tri-chemistry charger, the other is the usual Saber rapid charger)
2 batteries that are probably due for replacement, but they do run the radios for a while.

They will also include the following extra items:

An Astro Saber II Ruggedized housing in fair shape, with a battery that quite frankly needs to be replaced but can be forced to run the radio for a little while if you know how to jump start a battery with a charger,
and a spare III housing WITHOUT the LAPD engraving and in fairly good shape.

The price is not set. Send me a PRIVATE MESSAGE with your offer. The best offer wins. Offer is for the FULL PACKAGE ONLY. Offer for all, or not at all.

Note, these radio DO have the LAPD engraved housings on them. If you are in the LA area, you may wish to install standard housings that are NOT marked.

These radios ARE legally 'clean', having been cleared through the legal system, but they WERE stolen some years back, in late 1995 or early 1996. They're clean now, and paperwork can be provided to the new owner to prove it.

This is your chance to own what (probably) nobody else owns.

I can see it now...

First we get you talking about your stereo on Batlabs.

Then one day you just happen to be passing by your favorite high end audio emporium.

Well, it couldn't hurt to just stop in and see what's new.

Oh! Look! They have the new 20T's!

Well, it couldn't hurt to just listen to them for a few minutes............

..................

You know, who needs two UHF Astro Sabers anyway............

Interesting thought, but no, that's not it. Heck, there's not even a dealer for those speakers in the state, and I'm sure not going to pay that much for them anyway!

So far, nobody has made any offers. Please feel free to do so, and don't think I'm demanding the absolute top dollar per radio. Just offer what you really would pay.
