Digital Decode Question

Post by mfr301 »

What is the best setting to have a Motorola Astro Saber 3 on to do a generic decode of digital audio? Say I want to hear several departments but don't know what each one's settings are.

Is this even possible?

Thanks in advance!

I kinda had the same question. Don't you just need to tune the radio to the right frequency or is there something else that need to be programed to listen to digital? I am in Northern New Jersey, are there any igital frequencies to listen for?

Thanks

Under the ASTRO settings, under one of the sub menu's (sorry, can't remember which one at the moment but its under the ASTRO menu) there is Digital Rx rule... set it to DIGITAL CSQ. Any IMBE transmission will (should) be heard. This option is not available in VSELP radios.

To supplement what Pj said...from the begining (DOS RSS)...

F4-F6-F3-F9-F6

Set "Rx Unmute Rule" to Digital CSQ

It is in the "Astro Conv Personality Options". And you need to be on an Astro personality too.

Enjoy.

Guys, just loaded the windows software for Astro Portables and Mobiles.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!!!!!!!

Forget that F-stuff :) This is great, just like the CDM software.

Still take a week to program it though :)

XP? Hmm.

What does XP do that Windows 2000 Professional doesn't?

Except registering directly to Bill Gates, and having to report to Bill Gates to re-authorize your computer when you change any of your hardware. Sigh.
