UHF Visar

Hi,

Are you sure that's the model number? If so, then it is NOT a "normal" Visar, as the proper model number would be H05RDH9AA7BN. My guess is, if the radio really is an "N7", the program doesn't recognize it and gives you that answer.
If you're bold, you could try hex editing the program and add in that model number by editing the "A7" one - that might let you read the radio, anyway. (No, I've never done anything like that to the HT1000/Visar RSS!)

"N7" Visar

Hi,

OK, then that's the problem - does anyone know what a Visar with that model number is?

VISAR

I DECODED IT HERE USING THE JEDI MODEL NUMBER CHART. THE MODEL NUMBER ON THE RADIO IS H05RDH9AN7BN. WHEN I DECODE THE SERIAL NUMBER IT SAYS THE PRIMARY OPERATION IS CONVENTIONAL/SIMPLEX AND THE PRIMARY SYSTEM TYPE IS TONE SIGNALING. THE STANDARD MODEL NUMBER APPEARS TO HAVE A PRIMARY SYSTEM OF CONVENTIONAL INSTEAD OF TONE SIGNALING. IT IS THE ONLY THING I CAN FIGURE. OR I GOT STUCK WITHA RADIO WITH A BAD CONTROL BOARD.

Hi,

I have a problem with a VHF Visar. I would like to know if it's possible to transform a model H05KDH9AA7DN to H05KDH9AN7DN ?

What radios do you own?: radios

Looks like a european Visar model!
You have to program it with the GM/GP900 european Visar RSS.

I have a US model and when I use RSS GP/GM 900 it says "not supported". So, I would like to transform my H05KDH9AA7DN in a European model H05KDH9AN7DN....

Sorry,my reply above was not for your question.
For your US model:You have to change the controller board,if you want to make a european model of it.

Hi all,

I've encountered similar issues. My Visar has also the modelnumber H05KDH9AN7DN, and I am able to read and write the radio with the GP900 RSS. But appearantly I'm not able to access the full functionality of the radio. I've noticed this because it's not possible anymore to enter variable digits of a ZVEI-telegram via the keypad. This was possible as I got the radio. To be sure, I've backed up the original codeplug (also using the GP900 RSS), but after writing back that original codeplug, it's still impossible to enter digits via the keyboard. So it looks that writing the backed-up codeplug to the radio, doesn't provide the same functionality as the unit had before.

What I would like to know, is what RSS I need to get the most out of my Visar / to program it with original Visar RSS.

This is what I've got:
HT1000 / Visar RSS R02.03.01 - unable to access the radio because of incompatibility
HT1000 / Visar RSS R03.03.00 - unable to access the radio because of incompatibility
GP900 RSS R05.00.00 - read & write is okay, but is seems that not all functions can be programmed

Computer: 80386, 25 MHz, 8 MB RAM, proven-good RIB and cables.

Best regards,
