**CHECKSUM?**

Post by mfr301 »

Ok, I've been trying to program radios with Astro 9.02 software for about a day now and still can not get though the checksum errors. I'm sure this is a common problem but I dont know how to remedy this.

Anyone have solutions?

thanks in advance

You may wish to reinstall the RSS as it may of been corrupted.

Well, I finally got it to write last night after 30 minutes of checksum errors....

When I put 16 channels in and teh code plug was 19 blocks or whatever, it read and wrote with no problem. It seemed like the more I added to the radio, the more checksums I got. Rib, Cable, Batteries, radio, were all fine.

The only thing I could think of is that the lap top might not have enough ram in it maybe? It's an old thing that I use to program with RSS's.

The Astro software will work fine on today's high speed computers. You just have to boot into dos (no windows what so ever)

I have sucessfully programmed AS on a Pent III
Lowband radio. The original and non-complicated wide area interoperable communications system

Checksum Error

Post by n9jig »

I was gettting Checksum errors when trying to read an XTS using the DOS RSS from within Windows. I then rebooted to DOS and it worked fine.

Later I changed to the Windows CPS, but apparently (I have heard) that now I won't be able to use the DOS RSS on this radio anymore...
