astro saber III UHF need help

I have a astro saber III radio was working fine then I let the battery go dead on shift now when i place a new battery in it's place nothing??? radio has not had any damage, just alive one min. dead now any ideals??? thanks

I'm assuming that your new battery works.

One possible explanation is that the fuse on the rf-deck is blown. It's a tiny surface mount part and costs about a buck from M. I've seen this happen a number of times. When this happens, the green led will not light when turned on.

If the green led does turn on and there is no display, then it means that (most possibly) the vocoder to rf-deck connection is bad. This happens when someone attempts to dismantle the radio and not put it back together properly or the radio receives a good enough whack to cause a loose connection.
