XTS5000--CPS Crashes when trying to read it???

Post by jmr061 »

Went to make a programming change to my model 3 VHF XTS5k today. CPS crashes when trying to read it. Here is what I have done so far:

Uninstalled all Astro25 cps and re-installed it with reboot
Tried 2 diff computers
Read a UHF XTS5k just fine
CAN WRITE a saved codeplug to the problem XTS5k
Took the radio apart and re-seated everything.
Tried re-writing the firmware but CPS crashes when reading the plug
Also tried a new housing with controls in it, still crashes

Any ideas on what could be wrong? I am guessing the read and write process use the same exact pins??

I should also add that the CPS completes the read, the splash screen comes up for the astro portable cps and then when you would normally see it in the lower left saying "creating database", it crashes. So its pulling the data but apparently not liking something it see???

Thanks

Sounds like your missing a required Microsoft DLL. Not sure what the exact DLL is, but it's responsible for creating tables.

What version of windows you running?
