Need some assistance on this one...

Okay I have an Astro Spectra, VHF, low power. Radio model # D04JKF9PW4AN-UCM It looks like this: (button layout and what not)

I wanted to upgrade it to a W9 control head, and add a Motorola siren to it. So I posted an ad, and purchased some items.

Now, I have next to no Motorola knowledge, except for turning on a radio, changing the channel, and well... talking. Programming & parts I would need are beyond me.

I had a seller tell me the setup he had would work 100%, he also told me it was a spectra siren. So I purchased it. When the package arrived here is what I have.

1- motorola systems 9000 siren box, I think KIT # HLN1185* (last digit unreadable)
1- motorola systems 9000 w9 control head KIT # HCN1121A REAR (it does say astro on the front)
1- motorola remote faceplate thing, for the actual radio, no part # visible. It has 2 DB25 plugs side by side, and another odd plug above one on the left side
1- cable, HKN4356B
1- cable, HKN4363B

Can someone please tell me if I purchased the right items, to work with my radio? The local motorola guy I normally deal with is on holidays..

Well, sorta...

Siren box - good. Plug HKN4363 cable into this.
Remote faceplate thing - probably OK, if it's designed for astro. The odd plug is a keyload port. Plug the siren into the right DB25, control head into the left.
4356B - good, plug into left DB25, run to control head.

Now, for the issues:
Control head - That head is designed to be the second control head for, if memory serves, the analog Spectra. Not gonna fly for your purposes, as far as I know.

Once you get the control head sorted, you'll also need to force a W9 codeplug (remember to save alignment values!) into the radio, through whatever means you might have to do that.

Here is some pics of the control head, just so I'm not making a n00bish mistake.. (which I have been known to make in the past)

Control Head is a Rear W9 for an Astro Spectra / XTL5000. You cannot change or bit bang it.

You need an HCN1078 FRONT Control Head.
