He probably means the astro spectra consolettes.

They do make such a beast... I've seen 2-3 in NYC on a NYFD vehicle.

Yeah, that's what he's talking about. I've dealt with many. Nice package, really. A Desktrac sized package with an Astro Spectra radio, built in A/C power supply and a couple of expanded DB-25 accessory connectors for interfacing. No control head for it though, you need a remote hook-up for them. All the one's I've dealt with have been interfaced to either a DGT9000 or RCH3000/MC3000.
We don't have any for sale at this time though
