Quantar Firmware

Post by Astroboy »

Howdy there

Just seeing if anyone had some experience in upgrading firmware on Astro Tac/Quantar via the RSS Option.
I can see its done via a firmware file in CPS Rss but do you require anything special like a diff firmware chip.
Just seeing if anyone can help out
cheers

Are you doing this from DOS RSS, or Windows CPS?

Are you doing it via serial cable, or the coaxial ethernet cable?

You need to have the upgrade CD that is specific to the station/stations that you are upgrading. The CD contains a file that has all the backplane ID's of the stations (like an electronic serial number).
You need to set up the computer for serial slip connection (See software configuration manual with the software).
Then it is done from a menu command in the software.
No new firmware chips, unless there is an exciter upgrade, then that chip needs to be swapped out.
