astro saber remote speaker mic

i bought a brand new from motorola direct remote speaker mic part number#nmn6217b I installed it correctly and all that but when i push the ptt button on the mic in does not transmitt and when i press it on the radio it does transmitt, now is there something RSS wise that needs to be done or is there something else wrong here any info would be greatly appreciated.

I have no idea what is wrong with this thing i tried cleaning the connector on the radio and what not and it still get no transmitt from the ptt switch on the remote speaker mic I dont know its brandnew directly from motorola so I dont know if it is defective or whats the deal here.

1-Could be defective
2-Could be an analog saber speaker mic with the wrong label..

Probaly a defect because I got the part number from the motorola website under astro digital saber and I know the other analog mic looks different than the digital one so its the correct one I double checked even under that account but its probaly a defect and thats rare I never had a defect before from them so Ill probaly wind up sending it back to them people but on the other hand maybe its the connectors on my radio they look clean and new the radio is used and this is the first time im putting a mic on the radio but it receives just not trasmitts so oh well ill see about returning it and getting a different one that maybe works thanks anyways guys for your help.
