Help Pse: Programming Question MT2000

Post by Dougdeutsch »

Greetings,

I am hoping someone can shed some light on a problem I am having trying to program a MT2000 UHF Model H01RDD9PW1BN.

A friend purchased the radio off Ebay. I was able to read the code plug with R06.05.00 RSS. The radio origionally had a trunk system programmed and only one conventional channel. I was able to program 16 conventional channels OK and make a scan list. When I went to setup the MDC signaling and ID's they were not an available selection. I went back and read an archive file I had and the MDC signaling ID option was there so I know the RSS works. Since I can not program an ID into the radio I can not set the top orange button as a man down.

What am I doing wrong? I know I can not delete the trunk system but shouldn't I be able to setup the ID and signalling on the conventional channels?? Does the Flashport have something to do with it??

Any help would be appreciated.

Please send any response to me direct at "[email protected]".

Thanks in advance,

Doug

What radios do you own?: APX

Your model number indicates the radio is an MTS2000 and not an MT2000..

The radio my very well not have MDC turned on in it. Just because you opened a codeplug from a radio that has MDC, doesn't mean they all have it.. MTS's were basically a build-a-radio.. You originally ordered them with what options were needed. They were not loaded with features out of the box unless ordered that way or upgraded later down the road..

If that radio was used as a trunking radio, then chances are MDC was never enabled because it was not needed for the orig customer..

Stupidity creates job security!

If your radio has old firmware, programming it with the latest CPS will not add any new features unless you have the latest firmware to match..

CPS = Customer Programming Software, Not CPS Software.
