XTS2500 not taking some channels

Post by SD70MAC »

I have a XTS2500 Q split FPP Host 14 and DSP 14. The radio will not accept some frequencies like 45x.1225 . I have changed the channel spacing via FPP and CPS and it will not help. Is this a CPS settings issue ? My XTS5000 VHF FPP will accept a 15x.0025 with no problem. These are FCC allocated channels not home brew splinter channels. Any ideas ?

I've definitely been able to program splinter channels on a UHF XTS2500 (running host 12.00), so it's not a difference between the 2500 and the 5000.

You mention the radio has FPP; what happens when you edit the frequency via the keypad and hit the up or down arrow? Does it change by 2.5KHz?

I'm scratching my head as to in what world 45x.1225 is a valid 25, 12.5, or 6.25 stepped frequency...

Trying this, I AM able to replicate your problem on a UHF.

On an FPP VHF XTS, you seem to be allowed to program any 2.5 KHz increment in addition to 6.25 Khz channels.

But on an FPP UHF XTS, I can only program in 6.25KHz increments.

O'well ,I was hoping that I had over looked something in the settings. I have seen some odd frequencies that the FCC has allocated and this is one of them.

Thanks for the replies from all

Right, for example 450.1225 is indeed a part 74 remote broadcast channel, but as you discovered, cannot seem to be programmed into an XTS portable.

Of course, since it's technically illegal under ECPA to intercept part 74 broadcast remote channels without permission, think of it as Motorola doing you a favor by helping you to avoid the temptation to break the law.

That's not the the frequency anyway, so that's not a problem.
