Asked M for a quote on XTS 5000.
For a full keypad unit with APCO25 CAI, Astro25/9600 Control channel trunking, Smartnet/Smartzone (H38), and H14 ID display with three year warranty extension it comes in a little under $5000.
Actual price may vary - many public safety agencies benefit from volume pricing discounts and negotiated State contract pricing. This could bring the price down to not much more than the ebay auction ending price.

That's interesting. I didn't think these would be available in the "free" market yet. You can bet M was watching that auction pretty closely. I know because someone in M found a stolen Astro DIU 3000 on ebay about a year ago and there was a HUGE internal fiasco. It was discovered because the serial number was visible in one of the images. Check the number of hits on the auction page. I don't think I've ever seen it that high.

Hey - thanks for the info! I saw that DIU on ebay and I think it went for around $900. I was mad at myself for a long time for not bidding - now it looks like I did the right thing!
I was new to ebay at that time and didn't think about calling M with the serial number. Somewhat later there was an 800 Quantar on ebay with detailed photos where you could read not only the S.N., but also the F.O.
I called M with the F.O. and they found who it had been sold to and also determined that it had been replaced due to a freight claim. That made sense because the picture showed the unit had bent corners. I don't think it sold - too high a starting price. Saw the same guy & the same radio at Dayton.
