Minitor II "Do-hickie"

Post by ericsze »

I currently have a minitor II pager on VHF 154.1000. The tones that set it off are A-B 2378 and 734. Opening the pager I see those two chips imbedded on the side. If I were to get a Minitor II SV pager, could I just swap the chips and everything works? Or is there more to it than that?

The Same...

Meaning what? I can get a second hand SVII that's crystalled for a different frequency, pull those out and throw mine in? So I should also be able to take another dept's chips and throw them in ANY pager as well?

If you would clear things up.

Thanks.

No -- you need a Minitor II (or IISV or whatever) on your department's frequency. Then you can pull those tone filters out of your dept. issue pager and put them into your new pager so that you get the alert tones when they call you.
