New XTS Radio

Post by ASTROMODAT »

I understand that the XTS radio series includes the so-called "original chassis" version, as well as a later model with a "new chassis."

How does one tell if their XTS 3000 Conv UHF has the OLD vs. NEW chassis? What is the difference(s)? Can the OLD chassis be upgraded to the NEW chassis? Cost?

Will this be an issue in upgrading to "XTS Plus?"

Thanks!

Are you talking about the 5000 chassis vs. the 3000 chassis?

I don't know the difference between the old & new chassis, but I believe there will never be an "XTS plus" for the 3000 series. All new(er) features coming out will be implemented in the newer XTS2500/5000 series radios instead.

only change I heard was that on the older model XTS3500 or around there, had a hole somewhere on the outside cased, that leaked water
