GP68 Popping Noise in Speaker When Releasing PTT

Hi Moto-Gang:

I have a GP68 that has an annoying problem that I would love to eliminate.

When I release the PTT bar and the radio goes into receive mode there is a popping noise in the speaker. Sounds like a capacitor discharging. I have no schematics for this radio.

Do any of you have experience similar to mine? Any ideas on how to fix it?
