Good Afternoon Everyone,
Have 3 XTS-5000's with the following flash:
Q806 P25
Q52 FPP
Q53 Cloning
Q446 Channel announcement
H35 Conventional Ops
Ordered legit FDMA trunking upgrades. Adding... and removing FPP.
H38 Smartzone
Q361 9600 trunking
Q173 Omnilink
Got the flash upgrade keys today...
Q52 and Q53 are still left in the flash??!!??
So now the flash has:
Q806 P25
Q52 FPP
Q53 Cloning
Q446 Channel announcement
H38 Smartzone
Q361 9600 trunking
Q173 Omnilink
Everything I've read says that FPP and trunking don't work together past R9... firmware will be updated... I've also read if both options are flashed, FPP will still take priority. I ultimately need trunking not FPP.
Has anyone seen this from Motorola? Can I assume this was a mistake and a new flash key is in order?
TIA for any insight.

Re: XTS-5000 Flash Upgrades - Am I missing Something?
FLASHport upgrades can only ADD features, not take them away. Anytime we've had to have a feature removed for some reason (usually to make a second hand radio codeplug match the rest of their fleet), we've had to send it to the depot & request it be removed. As a dealer, we negotiated a nominal rate with them to do so. We're in Canada so this was through the Toronto depot...not sure how it might work for you in the US.
No trees were harmed in the posting of this message...however an extraordinarily large number of electrons were horribly inconvenienced.

+1 to Wavetar's comment. Depot assistance will be needed.

Thank you for that information.
I do find it strange that Motorola would sell me a flash upgrade that ultimately won't work. I personally don't see a difference swapping from FPP to fdma and upgrading from conventional to smartzone. H35 is initially enabled. The upgraded flash disabled H35 and enables H38. Wouldn't it makes sense that the FPP options are disabled to allow the newly purchased flash options to work properly if they don't work together?
Waiting on info from M currently.
Thank You,
Seth
