Hello,
I recently acquired an XTL-5000 UHF with a W7 head. Can I use a W9 head in its place without a lot of fuss (board swap?). If so do I just change the head type in the CPS?? Thanks in advance

IIRC you may need a new TIB to go from W4/5/7 to W9

NO TIB change when changing from W7 to W9 only if changing from W series to O series control heads.

so W9 is remote only and W7 was dash or remote.
I f you have a dash W7 than a W series TIB and a spectra series remote cable are needed along with the 9000 head and Astro firmware installed.
Most of the later 9000 series heads can be used on Astro and XTL5000's with a firmware update
