I have checked all cables, orange and green are wired direct into main power,
After setting my scan list and sq and volume levels, the unit will lose this info in a day or so, any ideas
problem with syntor 9000, loss of scan list and settings

The Syntor X 9000 uses the power supplied by the large red and black cable wires to directly run a 5 volt regulator (located on the common circuits board). As long as the power on these leads is not interrupted the radio should remember all the settings.
There are know issues that can cause memory problems in a mobile installation, such as starting the vehicle which can cause a voltage to drop and throw lots of noise into the vehicle's electrical system. If the vehicle has electrical system problems or a weak battery it can contribute to the problem.
Clean and check the red wire battery connection (corrosion can degrade the internal crimp between the wire and battery connector) and check its fuse holder. Also check the radio's cable connector where the red and black wires connect. Sometimes the wires inside the connector become unsoldered or the pins can be damaged.

There is an early design and an improved later design of this 5 volt regulator circuit. If you want to figure out which version you have please e-mail me.
