motorola NOT discontinuing tone pagers!

I don't know where the information source was on the previous post, but I wrote to // and here's what I got back, still shocking!:



Thank you for your recent correspondence.

Motorola is discontinuing our Flex and ReFlex pagers, which includes numeric, alphanumeric, and Two-Way alphanumeric units.

There has been no announcement of Motorola exiting the Voice pager business. The Minitor III units will still be manufactured.

In typical "M" fashion- discontinue something that works well but let's continue to build a problematic unit!

Come back "old" Motorola!!!!!!!!!!

Voice pagers are a very small
percentage of sales.The good sales are going good-bye.

I am an owner of both an Advisor Elite & Minitor III. At first I didn't like the III's however it grew on me after I got an upgraded one. The vibrate feature is really nice. At least motorola is not turning a blind eye to the public safety industry, but I must say from an entrepreneur's standpoint, that can't be a good decision.
