The current R3 (Jan 2003) says that the "Fast Key Up" option (U453AA) on the Quantar is needed to support the data controller. This option allows the data controller to key up the Quantar in 10 msecs (12 msecs for the Quantar VHF). However, the R3 goes on to note that option U453 is NOT compatible with option X806, which is Conventional ASTRO CAI Operation QTQR!

Does anyone know what's going on here? I know that there are lots of ASTRO IVD networks running Conventional ASTRO CAI Repeater Operations!
