MSF5000 External Controller

Post by Doug »

Hello Troops,
Has anyone interfaced an external controller into an MSF digital command tray (CXB version) without using a J2 accessory connector or the TTRC board? Searching through all of the archives in the forum and over at the batlabs site it doesn't look to promissing. It looks like I can grab the audio paths through J800, I've got PTT figured out my dilema is COR. At the time of this posting I haven't found anything that goes low enough. Can anyone steer me in the right direction.
If anyone can help out would you please post to the forum for the benifit of all to use.
Thanks Gang

Why would you NOT use the accessory connector?

If your ststion doesn't have the connector - just hook to the correct pin on the header connector on the SSCB. If you are using the accessory connector programmable output for some other function - then add a wildcard to the station.

Two wildcards recently sold on ebay for 10 bucks apiece so it is possible to find one without breaking the bank.

I've done it using the MRTI interface cable. Works great!

Zetron publishes instructions for connecting its FB6 panels to the MSF. They may be available from the Zetron web site.
