HT1000 problem

HT1000 problem
on channel 1 of my ht1000, there is a 2 second delay before the channel's audio opens up....there is no PL/DPL programmed for the cnannel so I ruled out the PL decoder as one.....It doesn't do this on any other channel.
HT1000 signalling?

Do you have signalling programmed on one?
Did you program a different freq. in one for a
test?

When we used HT1000's I recall mine doing the same thing if I was scanning.
A couple of things to check:
1 - Your most likely culprit is the "Sleep Mode" is enabled on channel 1. The HT's have a battery saving feature that puts the reciever to sleep after 10 seconds of no activity to save power. The radio then only "wakes up" periodically to check for traffic. In CSQ mode that period is adjustable from 5 to 1050ms, with the default being 105. You will get some speech clipping if it is enabled. You will miss a lot of the traffic if you have the sleep mode enabled and you are scanning. (see below)
You can enable/disable the sleep feature by channel. I never used it and kept a spare battery in the charger.
2 - If you have scan enabled, and a lot of channels in the scan list (like all 16 like I usually did) it will take the radio a little while to get back around to channel 1. My manual (RVN-4098) doesn't say, but I recall the HT1000 spends 125ms on each channel. 16 times 125 is 2000ms or 2 seconds.
3 - If you don't have priority scan enabled the radio treats each channel equally and doesn't perform a look back at the priority channel so it would take the radio a while to get back around to the active channel 1.
4 - If the radio stalls only on channel 1 when your not in the scan mode, you have the sleep mode disabled and you're using CSQ, eh, I don't have a clue........

One other thing......
If you don't do your own programming with the RSS, ask your Tech to print out the radio info after he/she does your programming. It's 10 or 15 pages of the scheme of your radio.
Then it's easy to check to see what features have been enabled/disabled and check the data for each channel.
The RSS can give you a printout with just a couple of keystrokes.

I know that this post was created quite awhile ago, but I really had to re-visit it since I never was able to get the problem fixed. I had two different people try their hand at some programming and i was able to watch the one guy while he did it. The features like "sleep mode" or coast muting were in fact switched off, and we also double checked to see that the radio was in CSQ mode on receive so there was nothing that should have still caused a receive probolem. It's very obvious that something is wrong, my question now is that if i just dump the current code plug and upload out of another HT1000, would it probably make the radio "normal" and not all bizzzare. The way I have to use the radio now, on certain channels, the recevier doesn't open up unless i hold down the green button until it beeps, and then the receiver opens (i still get the delay) or else i have to first TX on the channel, and then the receiver remains open. I'm hoping that the radio just has a screwed up code plug and one from another radio will cure the problem for good.
Actually, now that you have expanded on the symptoms, it doesn't sound like a codeplug issue, although you could certainly try dumping another one in. It sounds like the board interconnect pins require resoldering. The Jedi series had several bad runs of them with little to no solder. It can cause many strange problems, including the ones you describe.
