MODAT

Post by nickjc »

Is it possible to here the MODAT burst when transmitting; out of the radio speaker?

If so what screen implements that?

Basically I want the MODAT to go out over the air as well as here it on the radio speaker when hitting the PTT..

Thanks

Nick

What kind of radio do you have? It should produce the sound out of the speaker as well as over the air without having to do anything other than tell it what the ID is.

If you are talking about the sidetone, then yes, if you have MODAT enabled, you will hear the actual tones, and not a solid tone like MDC.

If MODAT is enabled as well as sidetones what would be a reason NOT to hear them?

It would appear that if the radio is secure equipped and you have modat enabled you cannot hear the tones locally....if you swithc the radio to secure you hear the tones locally..

If you disable the secure option intself in the rss, the tones are tx'd and heard locally out of the speaker

If you have Clear TX tones enabled, that would be true. I have a secure radio with MODAT enabled and I still hear the tones in the secure mode..
