Does anybody know how to get arround or fix a corrupted codepplug on a UHF system saber 3
I was trying to program it when i was done i lost 8 channels in every zone i only have 8 instead of 16. The radio powers up however it displays a error 01 code and none of the buttons work. The radio was working on frs frequencies before i tried to programm it.can anyone help thanks. xhxvx@ aol.com

IF you are using RSS ver 7.0, There was a bad problem with the software and it would corrupt the codeplug in sabers.. The best thing to do is if you know your model number for your saber, go to create new codeplug from the rss and then create a new codeplug, the codeplug you create must match the model number of the radio or you will not get anywhere. Next enter some basic freg, then program. Use the program with rpf values not the radio values. Then it should come back.. That was what I did when I got the new RSS from Motorola 7.1 version of saber RSS.. Try that.....

That's all well and good, but the problem is with a SYSTEMS SABER, not a standard SABER.
Try to locate a codeplug for a Systems Saber that matches your radio. Same model number, same bandsplit, same CON version. Try loading it in and see what happens.
Or, try reading your radio (if you can) and
go all through the RSS, making corrections to everything you can find wrong. Then reload it.
Oh...just in case...make VERY sure that you are using a suitable computer. That RSS won't run reliably on any Pentium class machine. Well, it'll run, but it might corrupt the codeplug. Use a 486 or 386
machine, the slower the better, and don't run
in Windows, and don't run in the DOS prompt program. You HAVE to be in true DOS mode without Windows loaded at all.
Maybe that'll fix it.

is the 1st step.
If you can Create a code plug like Elroy has
indicated, you should be OK.
If not, I can probably restore the radio, but
would have to examine it for sure. If it does
not read or write, 9 out of 10 cases I can fix those, but requires specialized tools to
do it.
