Maxtrac Repeater problem

Ok I have finished one of the radios but I have run it to a snag. The first radio I did was a five pin radio. But the problem is the second radio is a 16 pin. I can't find Q552 on the 16 pin radio. The pitcures @ http://Batlabs.com/maxrpt.html only show were Q552 is on the 5 pin model. Can someone please send me a pitcure of were Q552 is on the board? Also can I use 1N914 diodes in place of the 2N4148 diodes?

If i remember correctly q552 is your squelch gate (cor). You can configure one of your your 16 pins in the rss as COR. This will be a little less complicated.

This would be fine to do and it would work. But I don't want this unit to be able to be screwed up my someone progaming it wrong. Thanks for the help
