We just did a 2002 impala with bench seats. Used a stewart products console that fit in the factory ashtray rails below the radio. Really slick and looks great. Was a pretty quick installation. However, you've got that big console in the way so this won't work. Mayeb get some control heads and mount them in front of the shifter in that black panel?

Police package 2000 Impala with a floor shifter??? Didn't think they made em... normal impalas could have em... Our cars were all on the steering column with pro-copper consoles.
Ive mounted my remote spectra head on the backside of the floor shifter console in my cavilier. Little bit of a reach but safe from harm.

That's definitely doesn't look like a police packace 9C1 car.
The 9C1 isn't avaialable with floor shift OR leather. Column shift and cloth or vinyl is on the cruisers.
Check the RPO code sticker in the trunk. If it doesn't have RPO code "9C1" listed on it, then it isn't a factory police package- period.
As for radios, the space near the ashtray would probably house a pair of GM300 remote style control heads. Tha mains can go in the trunk and get power from the "100A" service if it has it.
