XTS3000 that hangs on startup

Post by Jay »

I have a watchbuddy XTS3000...And just finally got around to installing my DES/DES-XL module in the radio. Before I went in an enabled secure hardware, the radio was acting fine.

Right after I went in and enabled secure hardware, the radio would take a few seconds longer to test, and then hang at the password screen ( I was keeping it locked for a few reasons). My password had no affect on getting into the radio. I was stuck.

So I found two ways to deal with this: disable secure hardware (don't want to do that, when I start using it) - or go in and remove the radio lock and PW function from the menu. It worked fine then. Sure made me nervous. The secure module does not have a key in it yet, so I am wondering if that might be a factor.....Anyone else had an experience like this?

Damn, thats pretty neat that....Thanks Shaun. Great fix to a problem that had me wondering. I thought at first I had done something to my codeplug, but it would still read and write OK.

This stuff should get added to the XTS page on batlabs - hint for anyone who might be reading.....

What radios do you own?: X9000 thru APX

Also read the RSS book or the RSS helpfile reguarding the password feature when a secure mod is installed. There are a few different tricks employed.
