My I give you some advice?

1.)Take a file or a Dremel Tool and clean up and blend the edges of that ashtray where you cut it.
2.)Lift up your carpet and put your antenna cable and power cables under it and route the the front edge of the carpet.

Do you have the /v\otorlola Radio mounted to a bracket?

Is that a police package Impala? I've never seen a Civi one without a console.

What radios do you own?: W7 FPP lowband MaraTrac w/AES

All the base Impala's and special ordered LS's have column shift and do not have consoles. Only the LS has console shift and the associated waste of space console. One of back burner projects is to make my LS a column shift car, to free up floor space for radios.

Where's the other antenna for lowband?

If you haven't mounted it already, go with the center of the trunk...it'll load up better.

Can you still shut the ash tray? If so, clean up those cuts with a dremel and that will be really slick. Now you see it, now you don't. Definately get those wires behind the carpet.

I did an install in my cheif's car :o this past weekend. I put the control head on the ash tray door of thos 96 (I think) Lumina. Perfect spot, except the ash tray tracks gave up fell apart. Total piece of junk. Luckily, he doesn't smoke so we just glued the ashtray shut with epoxy and pretended it wasn't there :)

Davkenrem thanks for posting the photos for me.
So im the kind of guy who is rush rush...just had to get the radios in and post photos. The ash tray closes perfectly, I am planning in filing the edges down to dress the tray up a bit but I cant figure out how to actually remove the entire ashtray assembly. Im waiting for a cushcraft trunk lip bracket to install my comet dual band cell look antenna on the other side of the trunk. Once I get that in I will run all of the wires under the carpet. I dont have a bracket for the maxtrac it is velcred in place for now.
Thanks for the imput
