For Systems Sabers, hold in the top three (red) buttons while powering up. I think, but am not positive, that it is same for original Sabers.

when I do this on my secure Saber III it displays the alphanumeric row completely solid and the secure indicator appears (slashed circle). No buttons function or change the display. Anything else I can make it do with this service/test mode?

I believe you have to press the monitor button (top "rubber" button on the side of the radio) 5 times rapidly while it powers up.

I think.

Let me know if that works.

Mike
On Edit -
I just tried that with my MT2000, and it worked. It displayed the Model #, did an RF test, and CH test. When I get my saber III back Friday I'll see if it does the same.
