What radios do you own?: X9000 thru APX

It appears for the most part that both radios are basically the same. Can someone tell me what exactly are the differences and the cost differece between the two? The most that I have heard, is that the 3500 performs more like the Astro Saber, but that is all that I have heard..

We were issued xts3000r last Febuary 2001..and the county paid $3400. each! I haven't had in my hands the 3500 or 5000 yet.. 3000 is good enough for me. (if I get a call on it, time to go to work on what broke) here's a another link on it...

The XTS-3500 will only do VHF or UHF unlike the 3k which will do both plus 800MHz.

XTS 3500

New internal M-Core based RISC processors replaces old MC68HC11 (but only DOS RSS currently available, go figure).

Slightly better RF specs.

Much better internal shielding.

Certified by no such agency to take top of the line encryption technology.
