Some of his newer radios are coming without the same old whored out flashcode. This one doesn't include MODAT.

What radios do you own?: X9000 thru APX

To offically get MODAT, you would need to order Q261? which would blow the radio back to VSLEP. Modat is a sub-option of VSLEP. Last time I checked, both were basically NLA.

Oh, the cost: $650

At the time before VSELP was NLA for flash upgrading, you needed to order Q351. The problem was, when you ordered Q351 it CAME with the VSLEP option. It was a package deal. This was the offical way to upgrade the radio. If a radio came off the shelf with Modat and VSLEP, then upgraded to IMBE, I believe MODAT stayed, but you couldn't order MODAT and in an IMBE radio, since it would have been replaced with VSLEP.

99.9% of the radio's out there with MODAT didn't come from the factory that way. I am sure there are a couple of exceptions out there though. You cannot presently order a radio new from M with IMBE and MODAT. I asked the regional M rep look into it.

This doesn't mean that the radio can't support both in it.. (obviosuly)

Pj,
You can have MODAT and IMBE in Astro Portables.
You cannot have MODAT and IMBE in Astro Mobiles.

You can have MODAT and Vselp in Astro Mobiles however..
