CPS v 3.01 was released on Sept 23, 2003 for the XTL 5000 and the ASTRO Spectra Plus. Motorola also released CPS v 3.01 on the same date for the XTS 2500/5000 and the SSE 5000 portables.

No, I don't have the README file, it was an FYI from MOL, as you so duly noted. I don't think there is anything major in it, though.
I did hear today that there is a CPS coming out for an XTL 2500, which is interseting as it may be the brother of the XTS 1500 (cheap?).
