Help in monitoring LAPD on an XTS3500

I will have the use of an XTS3500 (flash 1000010000007) for the next few weeks and would like to have a friend program some LAPD freqs to monitor,as well as my own freqs, and need to know if there is anything special he will need to know in order to do this. Any special modes, digital modulator type, or signaling info he will need to know about? He said that he will be useing an RSS XTS3500 R02.00.03

Any help would certainly be appreciated.

All he needs to do is go into the mute/unmute rule screen and select digital carrier squelch and then go into the channel personalities and enable Astro recieve and you should be able to hear them.
