Saber not powering up?

Post by mancow »

I have a uhf saber I I got in a group of stuff a while back. The radio is dead. It doesn't power up at all. The fused tested good for continuity and there are no obvious damage anywhere. I realize it could be anything but do you guys have any ideas of some things to look at or test that may cause a radio to go dead.

HI:

When a Saber will not power up ( and the Fuse ) is known
to be good, you could have a Major problem on the Mother
PC Board.

Other than perhaps a ON / Off Switch, or Modules Removed,
it generally means major trouble.

If possible, connect a Amp Meter in series with the
Power Source, and see if its drawing any current at
all.

If you see the current unstable, sometimes it can
be restored if the primary code plug and secondary
code plugs are corrupted..

Stunned or killed

Post by aaron_tech »

If the radio had originally belonged to a system and was lost or whatever it may have been killed from the console. If this happened the radio needs to go to a MSS to reprogrammed.

Radio Stun

System Sabers can be remote disabled. Unless there is an option to do so in an 8D core radio (never seen one) I don't believe the standard sabers were cabable of this feature.
