Minitor 4 problem

Post by level42 »

I have a quick question concerning a minitor 4 pager that belongs to a friend. It is a newly issued volunteer fire pager. According to other firefighters and the manual, the pager is supposed to record 2 minutes of audio when it receives a page. His pager is not recording the audio. Instead he gets about 1 second worth of dead carrier. Any ideas? I don't know much about these pagers. Any help would be appreciated.

it is capable of up to 2 mins. this time is set in the programming and can be set for less that 2 mins. it just needs to be reprogrammed.

You need to have the reset feature set to "Delayed N" 9.60
A person who can program will know what this means. The 9.60 is 9 and a half seconds that the dispatch could drop the carrier before it would reset and not record. I think it can go longer, but even the slowest dispatchers can start speaking within 9 seconds of the tone. Also make sure the setting for stored voice is set to "Dynamic". This will give you the full 2 minutes. It can be set for less, but why?

It's got 120 seconds of voice storage. You can split that up into certain combinations (four separate dispatches of 30 seconds, for example), but I don't what the choices are.
