MT2000 15-Key Display - Repair or Replace?

Post by Kleptein »

I have an MT2000 with a cracked front display, other than that its in perfect working order. Is it more practical to just order the entire assembly with the display and all (NTN7154A for $127) or can I just replace the LCD or even the flex and guts inside?

Any suggestions?

You need to replace the whole thing, the LCD and keypad are one unit that is not a serviceable item.

What radios do you own?: FPP 6 meter XTL 5K's

It is a serviceable item, it's just not cost effective to service it, the replacement LCD is around $80, the bonding tool to replace the LCD is 5K, so, unless yur planning on doing a lot of LCD replacements, it is cheaper/quicker/easier to replace the whole front cover assembly.
