Question about programming AS-3

Post by mancow »

OK, a dumb question here....
Can you use the astro lab software to program a radio as you would with regular RSS? Say, if that's all that's available at the time.
:-?

In other words, to jam in some frequencies and set up scan and mdc. Nothing fancy. ???

Yes, but.....

The version of Astro Lab that "might" most comonly be found floating around out there is an older version (3.04 if memory serves), and will not read / edit a newer code plug version (if the radio has been programmed with newer RSS).

With Lab, it is possible to dump or clone a codeplug without unpacking it regardless of version, but that will not allow for any editing.
