XTS3000 MDC DOS ???

Post by Yosh »

Hi All,
I've got a nit-picky question for ya'll.

I've owned both an XTS3000 model II, an XTS3500 model III and an Astro Saber III in the past, and currently own an XTS3000 model III. I've noticed a difference in the way that my current radio mutes MDC data. It seem that when DOS is turned on, the whole data packet is muted and I don't get the small "chirp" that I normally get with all of my other Astros, or other M equipment.

My current radios is a WATCHBUDDY/APCOSYSTEM radio with the Chicago flash, but I'm guessing this function is associated with the firmware rather than the flash. The radio works great, BTW.

Anyone else notice this?

What radios do you own?: X9000 thru APX

I haven't yet. I have two AS3's... one with the 3.xxx firmware, and one with 8.xxx firmware, but the entire MDC packet is muted on both radio's. I would like the chrip myself, but I don't think its available...unless I am completely missing something.
Lowband radio. The original and non-complicated wide area interoperable communications system
