MSF5000 receive tuning

Post by dmette »

I am working on a MSF5000 and have no luck in getting the Receiver to respond to the alinement procedure
as discribed in the manual.. it is very deaf I did the VFO mod as discribed on repeater builders..it takes a 5watt signal
right next to the tuning slugs to key the radio.. when doing research it says to be in the 00 mode for tuning is that on the
test panel or the control panel or both...I can get to 00 on the test panel but not on the control panel..is there a trick to this
and can this be my issue...I am using an IFR sercive monitor and have the special probe to inject the siginal..
the orginal freq was 154 moved it to 145
thanks for any help

The tuning channel thing really isn't that important at this point. I would look closer at your injection filters or possibly the pre-selector. VHF stations pre-selectors are beneath the front panel
