ASTRO DIU Manufactured in Israel?

Post by ASTROMODAT »

I know that Motorola has a partner company in Israel that has made some of Motorola's ancillary equipment, and certain Motorola HF radios. For instance, the current mobile/desk top Motorola HF radio (2 through 30 MHz continuous) is manufactured in Israel (not sure where they are designed).

In studying the ASTRO DIU manuals, I notice that all of them are clearly marked at the bottom of the cover sheet as "Printed in Israel." I seem to remember that this same Israeli company manufactured many of Motorola's consoles over the years. (The other major manufacturer of Motorola consoles, besides Motorola, was the former Instrument Associates - IAI, Inc. of Memphis, TN, now GAI Electronics).

Acidently hit the sumbit button too early!

Does anyone have a web site address, or other info, on this Israeli company, and perhaps what consoles they are currently making for M?

Motorola owns plants in Israel (as well as many other countries).

Many products have come from Israel including some of the Maxtracs, Intrac, Moscad, T5600 and DIU. This is not a subcontracted operation like IAI.
