VHF XTS ills

Post by batdude »

watchbuddy radio. screwy flash.

anyone have a good codeplug (VHF M3) that's got the MODAT emergency crap disabled?

i can't seem to figure out how to clear the invalid fields in the MODAT general screen.... even with all the emergency crap turned off in all the other options screens, i still have these invalid fields in MODAT general....

how do you get around this???

What radios do you own?: X9000 thru APX

I remember going thru all that! :)

Best thing to do is to create a few channels and enable modat with emergecny on them.

Go back to the modat screen and highlight the invaild fields. You then should be able to change the ????? to channel 1,2,3 etc. Just change them until you can get them to disappear (can't remember if that was possible) or to channel 1 (or someother channel).

I remember having to do that before and at one point it came together. I'll try to load up my old codeplug and help you out if that doesn't work.

You should have to do this:

Create 3 personalities, all with MODAT as their signaling system.

Go into the MODAT setup screen, and assign those 3 personalities to the emergency setup.

That should clear up the error. You should not have to assign these personalities a zone/channel.

modat

well, the MODAT screen assigns emergency revent by ZONE and CHANNEL.

as soon as i remove the MODAT signalling from Pers 1 (assigned to Zone 1 Channel 1) i get an invalid field...

i am getting the impression that with this flash you must have revert assigned somewhere in the radio... there's no global MODAT disable that i can find.

OK, then I stand corrected.

try this:

Make a MODAT personality (3 if you have the space in the radio). Assign the three to a zone where you have space for them.

Then put those channels in the modat screen... you should be set at that point.

You HAVE to leave those in... period... just stick them in a zone somewhere as channel 14,15,16...

Shaun, I told you about the stuff I sent Nick right? Why would he NOT claim a box worth it's weight in gold literally? My radios all work but I wish he would have excepted the damn box. That package's value was about $3,000 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe but he knew it was being sent and had to be insured. He also could have emailed me or called me but hell I have not heard from him since then. That box had a lot of cash in it as well as some ebay stuff he bought and some stuff he said he needed such as a rib and bunch of cables. It also had some goodies on "The Sly". Weird.
