XTS3000 model I - acting funny

Post by Jay »

I've just purchased a used XTS3000 model I.

Transmits, scans and recieves fine, but just acts screwy.

Buttons on the side were acting wierd after I programmed it, I had them programmed for nus delete, light and blank (top to bottom). Would occasionally hear a good beep and see light cut on, or a bad beep and not see anything (like you hit the blank button). Pushing the light button would cause it to light on and off about 5-10 times.

Changed the programming on the buttons to blank, but still getting some beeps. What can I do / replace / check ?

I tried to swap cases from another Model I - not a chance. The flex connector that fits into the board has a different connector on it. It's a newer one, with a 2000 date versus the problem one with a 1997 date.

Open to suggestions....

Thats one way to go....

I was hoping somebody might suggest something that I can do / replace on my own. I am assuming it is part of the flex / knobs and associated stuff, but can't at this point do a swap to verify that.

Others?
