I' m interested in Elroys' method of monitoring
smartzone without the chance of letting the radio affiliate.
I have a couple of questions.
(1.) Our system (Marin County's) has 18 channels
with four control channels that will alternate every day.
(2.) Do I put all the channels above the 17th. or just the
control channels?
(3.) What, if anything, do I put in 1-16; Astro, conventional, would
HAM be O.K.?
(4.) How would I I.D. the talkgroups?
Thanks in advance for all the help.
This place is killer.

Re: XTS3K used as monitor/ non affiliate
If there are only 4 control channels, and trunkedradio.net shows no more sites, then you can/should program the radio as Smartnet because SmartZone (unless you have it as Smartzone after programming all the control channels [up to 32] then switch the system type back to Smartnet or "disabled", the extrac control channels will stick) Does not allow affiliation on PTT which is what you want over automatic affiliation.jbxx wrote:I' m interested in Elroys' method of monitoring
